FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE #7: Tue Dec 15 18:55:55 EST 2009 root at i386
When I plug the device in, it appears to recognize it and load firmware.

The device doesn't show up in ifconfig, so the example from the man page:
   ifconfig wlan create wlandev uath0

doesn't work because uath0 isn't found by ifconfig.
ifconfig wlan0 create wlandev uath0
ifconfig: SIOCIFCREATE2: Device not configured

Procure a Netgear WG111T USB Ethernet dongle, and plug it in. 8o)
