 I have exactly the same problem when my usb hdd reaches almost full
 capacity. The dmesg fills with g_vfs_done() (see below) messages and
 then the system either locks up or reboots. It had occurred once that
 the filesystem was completely thrashed and I had to do an fsck -y and
 digg through lost+found for any surviving files.
