i386, IBM Thinkpad R40 with Intel 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4) USB 2.0 controller
Freecom USB-Drive works not with FreeBSD by boot the machine and by hotplug.
(no da0 device)

by disconnect (hotplug) dmesg:

Sandisk USB-Stick (512 MB) works.
Freecom drive works with Linux Kernel 2.6.12 (Gentoo-source) on the same machine
