Problem with external CD-burner

Hi,

I bought an internal Pioneer DVR-107D DVD+/-RW writer and it works when
I connect it via it's ATA interface.
However, I also bought a external USB 2.0 case.

When I try to burn with K3B via USB, I get the following error:

"unable to GET CONFIGURATION: input/output error"
"non MMC-unit?"

In /var/log/messages I get things like these:
Jan 29 18:55:18 freebsd5 kernel: umass0: Unsupported ATAPI command 0x46
Jan 29 18:55:19 freebsd5 last message repeated 2 times
Jan 29 18:55:19 freebsd5 kernel: umass0: Unsupported ATAPI command 0xac
Jan 29 18:55:19 freebsd5 kernel: umass0: Unsupported ATAPI command 0x46

Is there a way to get the writer work with FreeBSD ?

It works with SuSE 9.2 (USB) on my laptop, so I guess it is not a
general problem with the external case.

cheers,
Rainer
