After initial install and configuration, I was able to mount my iPod on da0s2 without a problem.

Later, I compiled my kernel with "device atapicam" (for sound-juicer et. al). After this, my iPod would not show up as a "da0" device, although it would show up in the output of "usbdevs".

I recompiled my kernel without atapicam, and my ipod functionality was back.
