I'm not using auto-mounter on the VM's I'm seeing this failure on. 

They do however have the root file system mounted on NFS, which is done at
boot; NFS_ROOT. (diskless boot)

The entire root file system is mounted RO, and includes the entire base system
(including /usr/local)

The only other thing that's created is a memory disk for /var and /etc and any
NFS file systems used for mail.


I do run ntpd (from ports) on each VM. I can try stopping ntpd and see if that
makes a difference. But knowing VM hosts, the clocks may drift quite a bit....

Will disable ntpd and report back.
