I'm not sure what the current status is, but I did a bit of work a few weeks 
ago: I have a single commit in http://gitorious.org/~brucec/freebsd/brucec-
freebsd/commits/work/sysinstall which is based on the freebsd tree in 
Gitorious; I also have an incomplete sysinstall TODO list at 
http://wiki.freebsd.org/BruceCran .
