Perhaps the BSD Hypervisor (BHyVe) might be of interest?

A caveat:

  "BHyVe requires Intel CPUs with VT-x and NPT support. These features
   are on all Nehalem models and beyond (e.g. SandyBridge), but not on
   the lower-end Atom CPUs."
