ntpd struggling to keep up - how to fix?

FWIW, I have several other AMD systems, from both Asus, MSI and
Gigabyte. Noene of them have problems with ntp.

I will if that is the only solution. However, if there is something
wrong with my setup / configuration of this machine, I'll rather fix
that.
