7.1-R to RELENG_7 upgrade breaks re nic

The Patch from <20090213113955.GE12653 at michelle.cdnetworks.co.kr> 
(Thread: "fun with re", Feb 13 on this list) helped for me. You may try 
it and could also give feedback so it gets included.
