FreeBSD 7.1 on MacBook Pro: sysinstall keyboard problems

I get the same effect, but with completely different hardware. This is  
on an AMD desktop system, with a Logitech wireless keyboard plugged in  
via USB. I don't have X installed, only trying to use it at the console.
