uid/gid lookups slower on 6.2 than 4.x?

Well, with nsswitch things are a bit more difficult.  If you don't need 
it, you can just use nsswitch.conf to turn it off for passwd/group.  
Otherwise, you'll have to look at MFCing cached(8) from current.
