Hmm.  No, nothing at all.  (And it also clearly shows that the piece of
dmesg.boot that I posted (none at pci0:7:3) was part of the Intel PIIX4
chipset.)

I'll give that a go, but if the BIOS doesn't see it first, I suspect that
the card's just a dud.  I'll try to take it back.
