Dear Sirs.
This is an error message I get on our backup system when tapes
get full and are about to be changed:

(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): WRITE FILEMARKS. CDB: 10 0 0 0 1 0
(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): CAM Status: SCSI Status Error
(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): SCSI Status: Check Condition
(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): MEDIUM ERROR asc:3b,0
(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): Sequential positioning error
(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): Retries Exhausted
(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): failed to write terminating filemark(s)
(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): tape is now frozen- use an OFFLINE, REWIND or MTEOM command to clear this state.
(sa0:sym0:0:5:0): tape is now frozen- use an OFFLINE, REWIND or MTEOM command to clear this state.

I get this error while using 'afbackup' in the most recent release for doing backups.
This error occurs on all tape changes when one tape gets full and should be 'closed'.
What hapens here? I have no idea.
Is this a FreebSD related error or is it hardware?

Thanks,
Oliver
