Guess I should have read on before my last message. Looks like the fix
for the APM crash is causing your system to hang. I am not seeing this
on my system, although I was seeing the crash prior to 10/16. 

You might want to drop Peter (peter@) a note. Maybe he can figure
something out. locore.s is WAY beyond the scope of my knowledge of i386
internals.
