signal 10 in make world

Hi,
         Its only happened to me when there are hardware problems, or wrong 
arch. (e.g. compiling with i686 optimizations on a 486. However, thats 
normally illegal instruction).  I just finished building STABLE as of a few 
hours ago on a couple of machines without issue.
