version of pkg and updating to that version if not, is a good place to

Thanks. I managed to resolve the problem by forcibly deleting all ports,
including pkg; deleting /var/db/pkg/; then reinstalling pkg and all
subsequent pkgs.

I have encountered another problem but I'll cover that in another mail.
