Need an audio multicasting solution

Alejandro, correct me if I am wrong but AFAIK Icecast works with mp3
files. Can it really read audio from /dev/dsp? I don't need mp3, I
would prefer to multicast simple PCM data. Even 8 bit PCM (64 Kbit/s)
would do.
