-Stable periodic updates

It turns out that I have downloaded FreeBSD 8.2-stable as the repository, so I guess you no longer need to update the ports and src, as you would a regular basis, the problem is that I have not found such a manual on the web, so how are regular updates in-STABLE?, just download everything from cvsup and ready?, will not have to do the same thing to convert releases in stable right?, because I mean regular updates.
