I thought that Sun reversed that decision in 2008.  Can you give some 
examples?

There are two major GPL forks of MySQL right now:
http://drizzle.org/
and
http://mariadb.org/about/

MariaDB is the drop-in replacement for MySQL for people who want to get away 
from Oracle/MySQL AB.
