use of menus crashes Firefox?

No, /etc/make.conf is just three lines:

I'm not aware of anything I've done that would have switched
compilers. How would I tell? This is the version output:

# gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 4.2.1 20070719  [FreeBSD]
