Of course, it is not a devil.   IT is a helper daemon.
It is your prejudice and lack of knowledge of ancient mythology that
leads you to calling it a devil.

THere are hundreds of responses already posted to this question.
There is even stuff on the web site and a simple Google search will
get you many more.
