Ok,

I have got It working.

I have created an 736 MB archive of my 160 GB hard drive.
Now I am trying to restore It from my mac with :

$ gzcat pfSense_HDD.gz | dd of=/dev/disk1 bs=1m

It has started at 19h52 and at 32h02 it is still not finished…
I thing I'll go to sleep and see if the baby is born tomorow morning.

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process ?

Anyway thank you for all this useful help.
