Core file output directory, writeable directories and procfs

The sysctl(8) MIB controls core file generation.  See core(5) for more 
information.

To specify a particular location for your core files, you might want to put 
something like

    kern.corefile=/tmp/%N.%P.core

into /etc/sysctl.conf.
