FreeBSD, Ubuntu and Win XP on one system

hors configure your kernel-img file correctly :

nicodache at foobar$ grep hook /etc/kernel-img.conf
postinst_hook = /usr/sbin/update-grub
postrm_hook   = /usr/sbin/update-grub

just comment out these.
