Audio CD help

tulip# cdcontrol play          <------------------  it plays the CD OK
as root
tulip# ls -l /usr/sbin/cdcontrol

tulip# 

As a regular user it will not play.   As root CDs play Ok. I've been
reading about the operator group as a fix. Is that the way?

What should I do? Thanks
