Problems with "burncd" - cannot mount result on unix or windows

Care to show us the command you are using and what sort of "file" you
are writing?  In any case, drop the hyphen before "fixate".

No, it isn't.  I burn CDs with this command:

    burncd -f /dev/acd0 data cd.iso fixate
