Xorg on FreeBSD does not work

The only thing I can see right offhand based on your emails is that you
are using the ati driver. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought
that this driver didn't function nearly as well as it does under Linux,
esp with the newer cards (driver's outdated in FreeBSD). Have you tried
a safer setup, like vesa first to see whether or not X loads?
Bill's right too--you should check your X logs.
