cron not running

You might want to use ntpd to sync the clock before cron starts if  
this turns out to be your problem:

Once you have ntpd working, just put ntpd on the require line in the  
cron startup file,  /etc/rc.d/cron, to ensure that cron starts up  
after ntpd.

...or just buy a new motherboard battery.
