pppoe session in wrong state

I just install FreeBSD 5.4 i386, follow the handbook and setup the pppoe internet connection.
It seem ok but when I "ppp -ddial profile", I got some error messages "session in wrong state".
 
The ppp.conf & rc.conf just as same as the handbook, so anyone get the idea what is it ?
