NSSwitch settings on 5.4.

Actually, I've just checked a 5.4 system I'm building from scratch at the 
moment and it has host.conf & nsswitch.conf on it. host.conf says
"Auto-generated from nsswitch.conf"
Is this a circular argument? :-)
