Newbie: fonts &c.

try to install 

/usr/ports/x11-fonts/webfonts
or alternative
/usr/ports/x11-fonts/arkpandora

then enter on of the following lines into X config

FontPath     "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/font/webfonts/"

or

FontPath     "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/font/arkpandora/"

Also look at the Modules section into X config. Line
Load "freetype"
must be ther.
