Using FreeBSD 5.3 (?) depending on what you want to use try:

Xorg -configure
Xorg -config xorg.conf.new
cp xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf

or

XFree86 -configure
XFree86 -xf86config XF86Config.new
cp XF86Config.new /etc/X11/XF86Config

The s3 savage video driver is supported.
