Sending files to Win/Linux clients from FreeBSD 4.3 server?

Ooops. I already got ftp to run in my Windows client.
However, the file sizes drop to almost half of its
actual value after transmission using "get" or "recv",
and the downloaded files themselves aren't consistent
with the original files in the server.What the...?
