skype SOUND_MIXER_WRITE_IGAIN

I recently install skype in FreeBSD via port. 
However, when people talk to me, I can only hear some
"deformed" voice that sounds like cartoon.
Below is the error message that I get:

volume_adjust: SOUND_MIXER_WRITE_IGAIN failed: No such
device or address

I'm using FreeBSD 5.4-PRERELEASE as of now, with KDE.
Any help is appreciated
