make index & make fetchindex

Hi list,

Just having this question regarding an updated ports tree.

Should the INDEX file have the same size whether i do make index or make 
fetchindex ?

make index gives me an INDEX of  5847753 Kb
make fetchindex returned and INDEX of  6020050 Kb
