NID_NOT_FOUND

i am getting an error on an older machine using 2 different 
HDD control cards on 5.3-R with 2 different hard disks
(have not tried other drives)

both disks are Seagate.
one is 160gb
other is 200gb

ad0: FAILURE - WRITE_DMA status=51<READY,DSC,ERROR> error=10<NID_NOT_FOUND> 
LBA=268435455

this occurs under heavy usage mostly
