It depends on the memory, it's  probably PC100 or PC133.  PC133 is still 
widely available and an extra 256MB would make a considerable 
difference. I have  a 700MHz P3 with 512 MB, and it's fine for ordinary 
desktop use.  

PC100 is harder to find and more expensive.
