building new kernel fails during build of 'ath' driver

Hi jms ! 

I had the same problem. I get a tip in another mailgroup, that I tried. After that my card worked better and no errors when compile kernel. 

Try too add 
device ath_hal 
device wlan

in kernel and then compile again.
