newbie: cant create stunnel.pid file

   Did you ever find an answer to the following question?  I have the
   same problem.
Hi,

okay well I am wanting to Get stunnel working.
it is complaining that the stunnel.pid file cannot be created.
what am I doing wrong?

--- from logs ----

cert = /usr/local/etc/stunnel/mail.pem
chroot = /var/tmp/stunnel
# PID is created inside chroot jail
pid = /var/run/stunnel/stunnel.pid
setuid = stunnel
setgid = stunnel

--- the dir exists
typhoon# ls -ld /var/run/stunnel/
drwxr-xr-x  2 stunnel  stunnel  512 May 30 11:43
/var/run/stunnel/
