OK folks, with the great help of Mike Tancsa I am half the way
through the writing of my daemon.
Now I need to know how can I kill the inverter after
successful system shutdown.
The sources of apcupsd are very Linux-specific, so I cannot use them
as a reference. 
Anybody?
