Subject: VXA-1a IDE (V2EAE) on FreeBSD 4.9-RELEASE

Has anyone managed to get the vxa-1working under FreeBSD?

Nfo:

Ls /var/log/messages | grep ast0

ast0: MODE_SENSE - ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=0x24 ascq=0x00 sks=0x40 0x00 0x02
error=0x04
ast0: <ECRIX VXA-1a/V22EAE> - NO DRIVER!

4.9 REL has ATAPI tape device support enabled by default.

The Linux (vxatool-linux) tool does this:

./vxaTool /dev/ast0 -i
vxaTool V3.72  --  Copyright (c) 1996-2003, Exabyte Corp.

Failed to open /dev/ast0 for read-write.
Done

Anyone care to help out?

Regards,
Phil
