freebsd vs. linux - educated opinions wanted

It's a reasonable place to post, though the list gets so many trolls 
posting similar sounding questions that people often tend not to take 
them seriously.  Anyway, test driving is the best way to get a feel.  
Just, make it a long enough drive to really learn.

As for the PHP hangs, I have seen some postings on that lately,
but haven't experienced the problem yet.   Maybe someone else has
more information.
