Emacs weirdness at console

Try typing, for instance:

    Esc x psychoanalyze-pinhead

If you want to enable the Meta key in your console, you need to create
and load a customised .kbd map --- see kbdmap(8) and the standard maps
in /usr/share/syscons/keymaps.  You might find the map in
