config(8) out of sync with source

Did you follow the procedure out of the handbook?

# cvsup
# make buildworld
# cd /usr/src
# make buildkernel KERNCONF=MYKERNEL
# make installkernel KERNCONF=MYKERNEL
# make installworld

??
