Setting up cyrus-2.1.3

Hi All,
I've install cyrus IMAP and am having trouble configuring it up. I've got
to the point where the system is listening on 143 but when I connect I'm
getting

 Fatal error: can't read mailboxes file

What step have I missed. I've been googling and can't find anything
definite? Have I got the wrong version of berkly DB?
