Couldn't you just make a custom kernel without eisa on another system and boot with it instead?

If you slash away more than just eisa, I think you might fit it on a floppy. Hmm perhaps just take the stock boot floppy and replace the kernel file there?

I don't really know what I am talking about, but I think it might work.

I could probably make you a kernel and mail it to you, if you sent me the kernconf-file.
