cross build env for PowerPC

Hi,
What is the suggested way of setting up a cross build environment nowadays?
I tried with 5.2.1-rel but I'm having problems with PowerPC-targetted
buildworld. I also tried to cross-compile recent -current off of 5.2.1-rel
but it also fails.

What is the known baseline that would cross-compile to PowerPC? Maybe I'm
missing some patches that need to be applied first?
