Context or shorthand--some people are going to look for familiar options 
by that visual shortcut.

Losing the setting names only regains ten or fifteen characters anyway. 
That is mostly lost when an optionsng single or multiple option is used.

I'm working on a wrapper for dialog(1) that could address both the older 
dialog bug and use extended descriptions with the newer version.
