Where is Snort 2.8?

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if somebody is working on updating the ports for Snort. 
The latest version in ports is still 2.7.0.1-1 while 2.8 is out since 
October 2007. I emailed the maintainer (clsung at FreeBSD.org 
<mailto:clsung at FreeBSD.org?subject=FreeBSD%20Port:%20security/snort> 
according to freshports.org) but I ain't got any reply.
